This decadent Imperial Stout is an immersive liquid dessert, translating a classic rocky road treat into a complex sensory experience. A massive foundation of dark Chocolate and creamy Vanilla supports the billowy sweetness of Marshmallow. Earthy depth arrives via roasted Peanuts and Hazelnuts, while tart Cherries cut through the richness. The unique inclusion of Turkish Delight adds a delicate floral lift to the dense malt profile. At 14.8% ABV, it presents significant warmth and a velvety viscosity. Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, dense, dark brown head that shows moderate retention. High viscosity is evidenced by slow-moving legs or tears on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich, complex bouquet of milk chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and vanilla bean. Prominent nutty aromas of roasted peanuts and hazelnut butter are balanced by dark cherry esters and a distinct floral rosewater note from Turkish Delight. Alcohol is noticeable but smooth, lacking sharp solvent edges.
Taste. Intensely flavored and sweet, following the aroma with layers of dark chocolate, marshmallow, and creamy vanilla. Strong nutty flavors of peanuts and hazelnuts provide a savory counterpoint to the sugary adjuncts. Mid-palate features a pop of tart cherry and floral candy sweetness. Hop bitterness is moderate, providing just enough structure to keep the beer from being cloying. The finish is long, sweet, and warming with lingering cocoa and nut oils.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Low to moderate carbonation. Significant but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. Highly creamy and mouth-coating with no astringency.
