This American Stout presents a decadent sensory profile, leveraging a silver-medal winning Oatmeal Stout base further enriched by a double infusion of premium cacao and chocolate. The pour is viscous and dark, releasing a high-intensity aroma of bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee beans, accented by a subtle, resiny American hop character. On the palate, deep layers of dark chocolate and cocoa dominate, supported by the silky, velvety texture of oats. A firm bitterness balances the residual malt sweetness, leading to a clean, lingering finish with a touch of roasted dryness and smooth 6.5% ABV warmth.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, persistent, light-brown head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aroma of dark chocolate and Dutch-process cacao. Robust roasted malt notes suggesting espresso and toasted bread. Very low resiny hop aroma is buried beneath the rich chocolate character. Clean fermentation with minimal esters.
Taste. Initial impression is dominated by intense bittersweet chocolate and cocoa nibs. The mid-palate reveals roasted coffee and caramel malt sweetness. Hop bitterness is firm and smooth, preventing the chocolate from becoming cloying. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering dark chocolate and lightly charred grain aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a pronounced creaminess and silky texture derived from the oats. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively lift. Subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but smooth.
