This American Stout delivers a nostalgic sensory experience reminiscent of classic wafer-thin mints. Jet-black in the glass, it leads with an intense bouquet of cooling peppermint and rich dark chocolate, layered over a foundation of moderately roasted coffee notes. The palate is defined by deep bittersweet chocolate flavors and a refreshing minty snap that cuts through the medium-full body. While the American Stout base provides a firm bitterness and subtle resinous hop character, the focus remains on the seamless integration of decadent cocoa and fresh botanicals. A smooth, slightly warming finish leaves a lingering impression of a liquid confection.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (approx. 40 SRM); pours with a large, persistent light brown head with excellent retention and decorative lacing.
Aroma. High intensity profile dominated by cooling peppermint and rich dark chocolate. Moderate roasted grain notes suggest espresso and toasted bread, with very low resinous hop character and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression of bittersweet dark chocolate followed by a prominent, refreshing mint flavor. Moderate roasted malt bitterness provides balance against light malt sweetness. Low citrusy hop notes emerge mid-palate. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering minty coolness.
