This Imperial Red West Coast IPA delivers a bold sensory experience led by the punchy tropical and berry notes of Mosaic hops, complemented by the intense passion fruit and peach characteristics of Harlequin. At 7% ABV, it presents a robust malt backbone of caramel and toasted biscuit, providing a structural counterpoint to the assertive resinous bitterness. The interplay between sweet specialty malts and high-intensity New World hops creates a complex profile where stone fruit and pine dominate the palate. It finishes with a clean, lingering dryness and a touch of warmth, staying true to its West Coast roots and winter seasonal character.
Appearance. Deep amber to copper-red (11–17 SRM). Clear with a moderate, persistent off-white to light tan head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of mango, blueberry, and resinous pine from Mosaic, alongside pineapple and stone fruit from Harlequin. Moderate malt character provides a background of caramel and toasted bread. Clean fermentation profile with very low esters.
Taste. Initial impression of punchy tropical fruit and berry. Moderate-high bitterness is supported by a medium malt foundation of rich caramel and toffee. Hop flavors of passion fruit and peach persist into a dry, bitter, and clean finish with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Smooth texture with a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no detectable astringency.
