Alani is a vibrant hybrid that bridges the gap between classic American IPA and modern hazy expressions. Dominated by a singular focus on Amarillo hops from mash to finish, it delivers an explosive sensory profile of sweet orange and tangerine citrus. The addition of Citra Cryo in the dry hop elevates the aromatic intensity with layers of grapefruit and resin. Fermented with Cosmic Punch yeast, the beer reveals enhanced thiol-driven complexities of passion fruit and guava. While it carries the signature haze and juicy texture of a New England style, a firm bitterness anchors the experience, providing a crisp, refreshing, and balanced finish.
Appearance. Medium gold with a noticeable haze. It supports a persistent, medium-sized white head with good persistence and significant lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring heavy saturations of orange marmalade and tangerine. These citrus notes are complemented by tropical fruit esters of passion fruit and pineapple. A very low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hop presentation with a faint resinous backdrop.
Taste. Initial impression is a bold, juicy blast of sweet orange and ripe tangerine fruit. A clean, neutral, and grainy malt flavor provides a supportive backbone without sweetness. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, leading to a dryish finish. The aftertaste is hoppy and bitter, featuring lingering citrus peel and tropical fruit.

We then fermented it with #cosmicpunch yeast from @omegayeast to work in conjunction with the Amarillo which is loaded with aroma compounds. We then layered some Citra cryo in the dry hop for even more juice. The result is a blast or orange and tangerine citrus. This is another hybrid style, with the hops, haze and juice of a New England, but with a little more IBUs than your tradition New England.
