L’Augustiner-Bräu è uno dei birrifici che ha il diritto di presenziare l’Oktoberfest con questa birra celebrativa di un limpido colore dorato. Schiuma bianca, fine, mediamente persistente. Al naso sentori floreali (camomilla), miele, lievito e grano con delle leggere finiture di agrumi e luppolo nobile. Mediamente carbonata, ha un corpo medio ma una texture watery che ne garantisce un’ottima bevibilità. In bocca crosta di pane e miele; non è senz’altro una birra secca ed il palato rimane sempre un po’ “appiccicoso” e legato al sorso successivo. Verso fine corsa arriva una leggera nota erbacea amaricante; il retrogusto è di malto, riscaldato da una leggera nota alcolica. Fondata nel XIV secolo dai fratelli dell’ordine Agostiniano è tra le birre più conosciute e soprattutto tra quelle che godono della fama di essere di qualità superiore. Non a caso molti veterani dell’Oktoberfest la considerano la migliore birra della fiera.
