Viameter is a powerful Double IPA that showcases a saturated hop profile from the heavy use of Strata, Citra, and Nectaron. The sensory experience is dominated by a tropical dreamscape of ripe pineapple and tart passionfruit, accented by the sharp, resinous edge of grapefruit. Despite its 8.4% strength, the beer remains remarkably drinkable, balancing its potent hop oils against a lean, neutral malt backbone. The collaboration captures a high-intensity hop saturation where the punchy citrus of Citra and the stone-fruit depth of Nectaron create a complex, multi-layered fruit character that lingers long into the dry, bitter finish.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (6–10 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of passionfruit, pineapple, and grapefruit. Supportive, neutral, grainy maltiness in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus pith. Moderately high bitterness that is firm but lacks harshness. Low, clean, unobtrusive malt character supports the hop-forward balance. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and citrus-peel aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate to medium-high carbonation. Displays a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
