Atom Cryogenics is a contemporary American Pale Ale that masterfully utilizes Strata and Idaho 7 hops in concentrated cryo form. This hazy, pale-hued beer presents a complex aromatic profile defined by pungent dankness, ripe stone fruits, and bright citrus. The use of English yeast adds a subtle layer of fruity esters and contributes to a characteristically soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Despite the intense hop aromatics, the bitterness remains exceptionally low and approachable, allowing the vivid tropical and resinous notes to lead the experience. It is a highly drinkable, modern interpretation of the style that balances hop intensity with a smooth, refined finish.
Appearance. Pale golden (approximately 5 SRM) with a persistent, dense white head and significant haze typical of modern dry-hopped versions.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent dank, resinous notes alongside peach, apricot, and tangerine. Low grainy-sweet malt supports a clean, lightly fruity ester profile from the fermentation.
Taste. Initial flavors of tropical fruit and citrus dominate, mirroring the hop profile. Malt is neutral and supportive with a light bready character. Bitterness is low, much softer than traditional examples, leading to a clean, fruit-forward finish with no harshness or lingering resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable creaminess and soft texture. Moderate carbonation and no perceptible alcohol warmth. Smooth and non-astringent.
