This Imperial Gose delivers an aggressive and savory sensory experience, leveraging a thick, smoothie-like base to support intense heat. The aroma is a pungent mix of fresh tomato purée, briny salt, and the floral, fruity scent of Carolina Reaper peppers, sharpened by the vinegary tang of Tabasco sauce. On the palate, a rich vegetable sweetness is immediately met by sharp lactic acidity and a heavy saline character. The finish is dominated by a powerful, building, and long-lasting capsaicin burn that transforms the mouthfeel, while a sturdy malt backbone and the higher alcohol content of the Imperial style provide a necessary counterweight to the extreme spice.
Appearance. SRM 18–22; Opaque, deep crimson-red to reddish-orange, resembling thick tomato juice. Pours with a thin, fleeting pinkish-tinted head with minimal retention and light, oily lacing.
