Aslin Beer Company’s Picnic is a lush, vibrant Double IPA that showcases an expressive hop profile driven by Citra, Mosaic, and Vic Secret. It presents as a concentrated citrusbomb, bursting with waves of ruby red grapefruit and candied orange zest, supported by the tropical depth of pineapple and ripening passionfruit. A velvety, soft texture belies its high strength, smoothing out the aggressive hop presence without sacrificing its clean, punchy character. The malt stays neutral and lean, allowing the complex interplay of berry-like Mosaic notes and the piney, herbal lift of Vic Secret to lead. Appearance. SRM 6-8, light gold to pale orange. Large, creamy off-white head with excellent persistence and thick lacing. Moderate haze typical of modern interpretations.

Aroma. High intensity; dominated by sharp citrus zest, grapefruit, and sweet pineapple. Secondary notes of mixed berries, mango, and a faint resinous pine. Low, clean, crackery malt background with no caramel. Light, clean alcohol note.

Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit and citrus oils. Malt is supportive and neutral, providing a soft, bready foundation. High bitterness that is firm but integrated, lacking harshness. Finishes medium-dry with a long, lingering aftertaste of grapefruit rind and pine.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a silky, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth that enhances the mouthfeel without being hot or solventy. Very low astringency.
