NEIPA - New England IPA 5.5 º
Barundel is a luminous Hazy IPA brewed in collaboration with Baron Brewing, featuring a sophisticated hop blend of Summit, Strata, and Mosaic. The sensory experience opens with an intense bouquet of tropical passionfruit and ripe citrus, underscored by the unique spicy undertone provided by Summit hops. On the palate, Mosaic introduces notes of blueberry and stone fruit, while Strata contributes a soft, berry-like sweetness. A clean, grainy malt backbone supports the massive hop presence without distraction. It concludes with a restrained bitterness and a characteristically soft, smooth finish, delivering the juicy profile expected of the style in a highly approachable format.
Appearance. Color is pale gold to light orange (SRM 4-6). The beer is opaque with a significant haze and a luminous shine. It supports a medium-to-high, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical passionfruit, mango, and citrus zest. Secondary notes of blueberry and a subtle herbal, spicy undertone are present. Malt character is low and neutral, presenting as fresh bread or light grain. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy tropical fruit and citrus. High hop flavors of tangerine, stone fruit, and berries are prominent throughout. Bitterness is low to moderate and well-integrated, never sharp. The malt provides a light bready flavor that balances the hops. The finish is soft and off-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. No harshness or astringency is present. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated, consistent with the 5.5% ABV.
