Lager 6.8 º
Argus Prestige is a sophisticated Dunkles Bock that centers on a deep, Maillard-driven malt profile. The foundational use of Munich and Vienna malts provides a robust sensory experience filled with toasted bread crust and rich, bready sweetness. At 6.8% ABV, the beer offers a gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth that complements its medium-full body. A clean lager fermentation ensures that the complex malt character remains the focus, allowing subtle hints of dark fruit and light caramel to emerge. The finish is smooth and well-attenuated, balancing its inherent malt richness with a clean, lingering toasted quality that avoids being cloying.
Appearance. Deep copper to dark brown with attractive garnet highlights; brilliant clarity. Topped by a large, creamy, and persistent off-white head with good lacing.
Aroma. Medium-high intensity of rich, bready malt with prominent toasty overtones and Maillard products. Hop aroma is virtually absent. Clean fermentation profile with a very subtle dark fruit character and a hint of warming alcohol.
Taste. Dominated by rich, complex maltiness featuring toasted bread and Maillard richness. Some light caramel notes are present. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough support to allow a malty sweetness to linger into the clean, well-attenuated finish. No roasted, burnt, or harsh grain flavors.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to moderately low. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth without any harshness or astringency.
