Archer Brewing’s BNEIPA 2025 redefines the Hazy IPA by delivering a bright visual twist without sacrificing the saturated hop intensity the style demands. Brewed with the experimental HPA-033 hop variety from Hop Product Australia, this iteration explodes with punchy tropical fruit, ripe stone fruit, and bright citrus notes. While it eschews traditional turbidity for a clear presentation, the palate remains remarkably soft and juicy. Low bitterness allows the complex, multi-dimensional fruit profile of the HPA-033 to lead, supported by a clean, grainy malt backbone. It is a modern, refreshing take that balances high drinkability with massive aromatic impact and a smooth, elegant finish.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (4 SRM). Contrary to style norms, this version displays brilliant clarity. Topped with a medium-high, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring heavy tropical fruit, nectarine, and citrus peel. A neutral, grainy, and lightly bready malt character sits in the background. Fermentation is clean with supportive, subtle fruity esters; no caramel or toast notes are present.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor, echoing the tropical and stone fruit notes of the aroma. Low to medium-high perceived bitterness that is smooth and never sharp. Low grainy malt flavor provides a balanced, off-dry finish. The aftertaste is clean with a lingering juicy fruit quality.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol presence is well-integrated, providing only a very light warmth. Free from any harshness, astringency, or raw starch texture.
