Imperial IPA 8 º
This collaborative Double IPA delivers an intense aromatic burst of bright citrus and resinous evergreen. Citra and Lemondrop hops lead the charge with punchy notes of zesty lemon peel, grapefruit, and fresh lime, while Simcoe provides a grounding layer of pine and subtle earthiness. Despite its 8% strength, the beer maintains a lean profile, showcasing a clean, pale malt base that stays out of the way of the massive hop charge. A firm, crisp bitterness cuts through the subtle sweetness, finishing dry with a lingering resonance of tropical fruit and resinous spice, providing high drinkability for its stature.
Appearance. Gold to light orange (6-8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit and tropical melon from Citra, bright lemon zest and herbal citrus from Lemondrop, and a distinct piney, resinous backbone from Simcoe. Supportive neutral, grainy malt in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a very subtle, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of lemon, passion fruit, and pine. Malt flavor is low and clean, offering a soft, cracker-like support without caramel sweetness. Bitterness is high and firm but smooth, avoiding harshness. The balance is decidedly hop-forward, leading to a dry finish with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel. A pleasant, restrained alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
