Brewer’s Breakfast is an opulent Imperial Stout that delivers an immersive, dessert-like sensory experience. The pour reveals a viscous, jet-black body topped with a dense, persistent mocha head. Deep aromatic layers of Cacao Nibs and dark-roasted coffee merge seamlessly with the rich, earthy aromas of Molasses and Black Treacle. On the palate, a velvety, chewy texture carries waves of bittersweet chocolate and creamy Vanilla, balanced by a firm roast bitterness. The high alcohol content provides a steady, integrated warmth that lingers alongside notes of charred grain and dried dark fruit, creating a complex, harmonious profile suited for slow, celebratory sipping.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black (40+ SRM). Thick, deep tan to dark brown head with moderate retention. High viscosity and alcohol content are visible as prominent legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate from Cacao Nibs, roasted coffee, and burnt grain. Prominent notes of earthy Molasses and Black Treacle provide a dark-sugar depth, complemented by sweet Vanilla. Low dark fruit esters resembling raisins or prunes are present, alongside a noticeable but smooth alcohol character.
Taste. Intense and multifaceted initial flavors of dark chocolate and espresso give way to the heavy, rich sweetness of Black Treacle and Molasses. Vanilla provides a smooth, rounding effect against the aggressive roast and charred malt character. Bitterness is firm and provides necessary balance to the high residual sugar. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of cocoa and toasted grain.
Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Distinct but smooth alcohol warmth is present and well-integrated, reflecting the high gravity without being sharp or solventy.
