This indulgent Imperial Stout delivers an intense sensory experience centered on a generous addition of liquid cacao. The aroma is dominated by rich, bittersweet chocolate and dark roasted coffee, balanced by a subtle creamy sweetness. On the palate, the liquid cacao translates into a luxurious, dessert-like flavor profile, melding with notes of charred grain and dark fruit. The imperial strength provides a smooth, well-integrated warmth that complements the velvety texture. This is a harmonious, full-bodied beer where the aggressive roasted character of a traditional Imperial Stout is softened by a decadent, lingering chocolate finish.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Features a thick, creamy, deep tan head with moderate retention and visible viscosity in the form of legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity of bittersweet chocolate and liquid cacao. Moderate roasted malt scents of espresso and charred grain are complemented by a subtle creamy sweetness. Low esters of plum or raisin emerge as it warms, alongside a very low earthy hop presence and clean alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression of luxurious milk chocolate and sweet cacao. Moderate roasted malt flavors provide a sturdy backbone of coffee and toasted bread. Bitterness is medium-high but softened by residual sweetness. The finish is long and bittersweet, with lingering cocoa and gentle alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, enhancing the creamy profile. A gentle, smooth alcohol warmth is present and well-integrated; no astringency.
