This low-alcohol American Pale Ale punches well above its weight, delivering a vibrant sensory experience led by the aromatic synergy of Citra and Galaxy hops. The nose is greeted by high-intensity notes of ripe passion fruit, peach, and bright citrus zest. A lean, grainy malt backbone provides a clean foundation for the hop-forward profile, where flavors of lime and tropical fruit transition into a crisp, moderate bitterness. Despite the 0.5% ABV, the beer maintains a refreshing character and a dry, snappy finish that emphasizes the modern hop varieties, making it an exceptionally drinkable interpretation of the style.

Appearance. Pale straw to light golden (3-5 SRM). Pours with a moderate white head that dissipates somewhat quickly but leaves light lacing. Generally clear to slightly hazy from dry-hop particulates.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit, passion fruit, and peach from the Galaxy hops, alongside grapefruit and lime zest from the Citra. Very low, clean, grainy malt sweetness. Fermentation is neutral with no significant esters.

Taste. Initial impression is of bright citrus and stone fruit. Moderate hop bitterness provides a firm structure. The malt flavor is low, primarily bready and neutral, supporting rather than competing with the hops. The finish is short and dry with a lingering note of citrus peel and resinous hop character. No off-flavors or worty sweetness often found in low-alcohol versions.

Mouthfeel. Light body with a thin but crisp texture. High carbonation provides a refreshing prickle on the tongue. Zero alcohol warmth and no notable astringency.

ARBOR ALES - Arbor Ales have been brewing beer in the fine city of Bristol since early 2007. From their site in Easton, the team currently brews and packages in excess of one and a half million pints a year. That’s pints, full pints and nothing but pints (apart from the odd 440ml can, but they don’t talk about those). Never shying away from trying out new ideas, they have an extensive back catalogue of recipes covering a vast array of styles and ABV’s. Though all different in their own way, the recipes were all born out of a desire to make beer that Arbor are proud of and importantly, that they really want to drink themselves.
