Animus Brewing

This New England style IPA pours with a glowing, opaque radiance, immediately releasing an intense tropical and citrus bouquet. The heavy dry-hopping of Galaxy and Citra hops drives vibrant aromas of passionfruit, peach, and bright grapefruit, grounded by a clean, doughy malt backbone. On the palate, the hop character is lush and juice-forward, delivering rich flavors of mango and sweet orange peel with a remarkably soft, low bitterness. Smooth and full on the tongue, it balances a subtle sweetness with a clean, hop-saturated finish that keeps this flavorful Hazy IPA exceptionally drinkable.

Appearance. Deep straw to light orange-amber (4-6 SRM) with a beautiful, opaque hazy glow. Supports a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and dense, web-like lacing. Free of any visible yeast clumps or floating hop particulates.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit (passionfruit, mango) and bright citrus (grapefruit, sweet orange) from the Galaxy and Citra hops. Backed by a low, clean, grainy-sweet and lightly bready malt character. Yeast esters are complementary and fruity, seamlessly blending with the hops. Completely free of diacetyl or harsh green grassiness.

Taste. Massive initial wave of juicy tropical fruit and sweet citrus hop flavors. Malt flavor is low to medium-low, contributing a soft, doughy, neutral support. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate (approx. 35-40 IBU), soft, and completely devoid of harshness or hop burn. The finish is off-dry and smooth, leaving a lingering, pleasant impression of fresh fruit nectar.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, soft, and pillowy body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol warmth is light and very well-integrated at 6% ABV. Free of astringency or raw starch texture.
