Anheuser-Busch Bud Ice

Eisbock 5.5 º 15 IBU
This Eisbock presents a concentrated sensory profile driven by an exclusive ice-brewing process that renders the beer exceptionally smooth. The freezing technique enhances a rich malt core characterized by toasty, bready notes and a faint hint of caramel. While the process concentrates the flavors, the result remains clean and refined, showcasing a velvety texture and a subtle complexity of dark fruits like plums and grapes. As America's first draft ice-brewed beer, it balances its significant malt-forward sweetness with a gentle alcoholic dryness in the finish, ensuring a rich yet drinkable character that avoids being cloyingly sweet.
Appearance. Deep copper to dark brown with prominent ruby highlights and good clarity. The head is off-white to deep ivory, showing moderate to poor retention, and the beer often displays pronounced legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a dominance of rich, toasted malt and a smooth alcohol presence. The aromatic profile features bready and light caramel notes, accompanied by malt-derived dark fruit esters such as grapes. Clean fermentation with no hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression of rich, sweet malt with toasty and Maillard qualities. Malt flavors are balanced by a significant alcohol presence and notes of plum or dark fruit. Hop bitterness is mild, providing just enough balance to avoid a syrupy character without adding hop flavor. The finish is malty and slightly dry.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a very smooth, silky texture. Carbonation is low. It provides a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth that is smooth rather than burning, contributing to the rich draft character.
