An aromatic profile dominated by roasted coffee and sweet licorice is complemented by subtle nuances of dried fruit, creating a structured yet delicate sensory experience. Utilizing huskless roasted malts, the beer achieves a smooth, bitter-chocolate palate that avoids any burnt or harsh astringency. The clean German lager fermentation ensures the focus remains on the interplay of bready Munich malt and pilsner-driven crispness. It concludes with a satisfyingly dry finish, leaving a reassurance of balanced bitterness and a lingering, clean toasted character.
Appearance. Very dark brown with brilliant ruby highlights when held to the light. Crowned by a large, persistent, tan-colored head with fine lacing. High clarity despite its depth of color.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring notes of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Distinct hints of licorice and dried plum are present but well-integrated. Clean lager character with no perceptible esters and very low herbal hop aroma in the background.
Taste. Initial flavors of toasted bread and mild coffee, evolving into a mid-palate of bitter chocolate and faint licorice. Bitterness is medium-low, providing a gentle balance to the malt sweetness. The finish is dry and clean with a subtle, lingering roastiness and a soft, spicy hop aftertaste.
