Anagram Brewery’s Time Traveler captures the quintessential essence of a West Coast American IPA. It opens with an intense sensory bouquet of resinous pine and vibrant grapefruit zest, underpinned by a clean, minimalist malt profile. On the palate, a sharp, clean bitterness takes center stage, complemented by flavors of citrus pith and forest floor. The 6.5% ABV provides a light, structural warmth that enhances the beer's crispness. Strikingly clear and brilliantly gold, it concludes with a bone-dry finish and a persistent, hoppy snap, making it a definitive example of focused, hop-forward craftsmanship that emphasizes clarity and a high-attenuation profile.
Appearance. Deep gold (7 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a thick, frothy white head that exhibits excellent persistence and leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit peel, and a hint of floral spice. A very low, clean, crackery malt presence supports the hops. Fermentation is clean with no noticeable esters.
Taste. Immediate high hop flavor mirrors the aroma with zesty citrus and dank resin. Bitterness is firm and assertive but clean, backed by a light, grainy malt character. The balance is heavily hop-forward, leading into a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering, bitter, and hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively scrub on the tongue. A very subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but never harsh.
