The Turn is a rich and comforting Imperial Stout that captures the transition of the seasons through a deep, layered sensory profile. Pronounced aromas of toasted hazelnut integrate seamlessly with a robust, roasty core, evoking notes of bittersweet chocolate and dark roast coffee. At 9.1% ABV, it offers a gentle, well-integrated warmth that complements its full, velvety texture. Complex dark fruit esters of fig and raisin play against a firm hop bitterness, while the nutty addition provides a smooth, lingering finish that balances the intense malt character for a harmonious, cold-weather experience.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40). Pours with a dense, deep tan head that shows moderate retention and leaves thick lacing on the glass. High viscosity is apparent in the form of slow-moving legs.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and significant toasted hazelnut. Underlying notes of dark dried fruits, specifically raisins and prunes, meld with a subtle, clean alcohol presence and a low earthy hop character.

Taste. Initial impression is a massive wave of dark roasted grain, cocoa, and rich hazelnut. The mid-palate reveals layers of caramel and toasted bread balanced by a firm hop bitterness. Esters of black currant and fig add depth, leading into a bittersweet finish with a lingering aftertaste of roasted coffee and nut skins.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, providing just enough lift to the heavy body. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is present but never sharp or solventy.
