Anagram Brewery Supreme is an indulgent Imperial Stout designed as a liquid interpretation of Mexican hot chocolate. This 12% ABV collaborative effort presents a thick, decadent canvas that foregrounds the rich, bittersweet character of Alta Verapaz cocoa nibs. The sensory experience is defined by a layered complexity where sweet, woody cinnamon notes entwine with deep roasted malts. A significant spicy heat from chili peppers emerges in the finish, providing a sharp contrast to the initial dessert-like sweetness. The high alcohol content provides a well-integrated warmth, supporting a profile of dark fruit and intense chocolate that evolves gracefully on the palate.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque with a dense, persistent dark brown head. High viscosity is evident through thick legs on the glass.

Aroma. Intense and complex, dominated by rich Alta Verapaz cocoa and bittersweet chocolate. Woody and sweet cinnamon notes are prominent, backed by roasted coffee and slight charred grain. Moderate dark fruit esters reminiscent of raisins and prunes are present, alongside a subtle, spicy pepper tingle and noticeable alcohol warmth.

Taste. An initial wave of sweet malt and decadent chocolate gives way to complex layers of woody cinnamon and deep roast. The mid-palate features the distinct, earthy character of Alta Verapaz cocoa nibs. Bitterness is moderate but firm, providing balance to the residual sweetness. The finish is long and complex, characterized by a rising chili pepper heat and a lingering, warming alcohol presence.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present, complemented by a distinct spicy tingle from the chili peppers on the back of the throat.
