IPL - India Pale Lager 5.7 º
This modern interpretation of a German Pils balances classic lager precision with a bold, New World hop profile. Brilliantly clear and gold, it opens with an intense aromatic burst of Idaho 7 Cryo hops, delivering vivid notes of mango and ripe apricot. The clean, cracker-like malt base provides a crisp foundation for layered flavors of candied orange peel and resinous pine, finishing with a distinctive touch of black tea. Highly carbonated and dry, it offers the refreshing snap of a traditional lager while showcasing the expressive, juicy complexity of a West Coast craft profile, maintaining a firm and clean bitterness throughout.
Appearance. Deep yellow (SRM 4), brilliant clarity, with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Moderately-high intensity featuring prominent Idaho 7 hop character; notes of mango, ripe apricot, and candied orange peel are layered over resinous pine and a touch of black tea. Low grainy, doughy malt character provides a clean background with no fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial toasted cracker malt flavor is quickly overcome by medium-high hop bitterness and flavors of citrus zest and stone fruit. The Idaho 7 hops contribute complex mango and pine notes that linger into a very dry, crisp finish. The balance is decidedly bitter but clean, with a subtle mineral sharpness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, creating a crisp and refreshing palate. Not heavy or sweet, with a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no astringency.
