The Red Curse is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies the style's juicy allure through a sophisticated blend of Talus, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops. On the nose, Talus provides unique notes of pink grapefruit and dried rose petals, while Mosaic and Simcoe offer layers of ripe stone fruit, blueberries, and a hint of earthy pine. This aromatic intensity is supported by a clean, bready malt base. The palate is defined by a soft, plush mouthfeel and low perceived bitterness, allowing the tropical and citrus hop flavors to shine. It finishes with an off-dry, smooth character that invites the next sip.
Appearance.Pale gold to light orange with a significant, opaque haze that creates a luminous shine. It is topped by a dense, white, meringue-like head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma.High intensity hop aromatics featuring a complex blend of tropical mango, blueberry, and stone fruit. Unique grapefruit and floral notes are present. The malt is subtle, providing a grainy, bready background without any toasted or caramel character. Fermentation is clean with light fruity esters.
Taste. The flavor leads with high tropical and citrus hop intensity—notably passion fruit, orange peel, and light pine—transitioning into a soft bready malt mid-palate. Bitterness is low to medium and exceptionally smooth, never becoming harsh. The finish is off-dry and lingering with fruit-forward hop oils, supported by a clean fermentation profile.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth and soft texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is no hop harshness or astringency, and the 6% alcohol provides a very light, well-integrated warmth.
