This indulgent Imperial Stout presents a decadent sensory profile inspired by a coconut-filled pastry. Intense aromas of dark chocolate and toasted coconut evoke a Bounty bar character, further enriched by a distinct almond glaze nuttiness. The base provides deep roasted malt layers of espresso and bittersweet cocoa. At 11.5% ABV, a smooth, integrated warmth supports the viscous, chewy texture. Every sip delivers a complex interplay of sweet confectionery notes and roasty depth, finishing with a lingering, velvety sweetness that balances the charred grain bitterness typical of the style. The result is a harmonious, dessert-like experience with significant depth and character.
Appearance. Jet black (40 SRM) and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, creamy, deep tan head that shows moderate retention, leaving oily legs on the glass due to high viscosity and alcohol.
Aroma. High intensity; prominent notes of sweetened coconut, dark chocolate, and marzipan-like almond. Beneath the adjuncts lies a rich roasted malt foundation of coffee and black molasses, with subtle dark fruit esters like raisin and plum. Low earthy hop aroma.
