This modern American Pale Ale is a vibrant showcase of Yakima Chief 303 Hop Blend and the innovative Phantasm™ Sauvignon Blanc grape powder. It delivers an intense aromatic burst of passionfruit, guava, and gooseberry, characteristic of its heavy New Zealand hops additions. On the palate, the juicy tropical fruit notes are balanced by a restrained, bready malt backbone and a clean, moderate bitterness. The finish is crisp and refreshing, highlighting the thiol-driven complexity of white grape and lime without overwhelming the palate, making it a highly drinkable and seductive interpretation of the style.
Appearance. Pale golden to light amber (5-7 SRM). Large, frothy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing. Generally clear with a slight, modern hazy sheen.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit, passionfruit, and white grape. Distinctive notes of gooseberry and lime from New Zealand hops are bolstered by the thiol-rich Sauvignon Blanc powder. Very low, clean bready maltiness in the background with a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical punch, guava, and crushed grapes. Moderate bitterness (approx. 40 IBU) provides a firm but smooth counterpoint to the juicy hop flavors. Low neutral malt sweetness supports the hop intensity without adding caramel. Finish is medium-dry and clean with lingering notes of tropical citrus and a hint of mineral character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate carbonation. Minimal alcohol warmth and no perceptible astringency, contributing to high drinkability.
