Amalti Italian Pilsner
Amalti Italian Pilsner is a refined expression of the German Pils style, showcasing the unique character of Eraclea malt. It presents a crisp, clean profile defined by low-temperature fermentation. The sensory experience is led by a bright, herbal hop aroma with distinct citrus nuances, courtesy of traditional noble hops. The malt provides a delicate foundation of toasted crackers and a light honey sweetness that balances the firm, lingering bitterness. This lager is exceptionally refreshing, offering a dry finish and a sparkling carbonation that emphasizes its elegant, lean structure and high drinkability.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of noble hops, featuring prominent herbal and spicy notes with a distinct citrus lift. The malt presence is low to medium, offering a clean, grainy-sweet scent reminiscent of dough and light honey from the Eraclea malt. Fermentation is clean with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial grainy malt sweetness with a touch of honey is quickly overtaken by a firm hop bitterness and herbal hop flavors. The citrus notes provide a bright edge. The finish is very dry and crisp, with a lingering but pleasant bitterness and a hint of minerality that encourages another sip. Complexity is high for the style due to the specific malt character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, providing a lively, scrubbing sensation on the palate. Smooth and crisp without any harshness or astringency. Alcohol warmth is absent.
