This West Coast-style American IPA is a powerful tribute to the Midgard serpent, delivering an intense and structured sensory experience dominated by hop character. High-intensity aromas of fresh pine and resin lead the way, supported by a minimal, clean malt profile. On the palate, a formidable bitterness takes center stage, characteristic of the style’s focus on hop resins. Despite its strength and 7.1% ABV, the beer remains dry and well-balanced, finishing with a lingering, resinous snap. The interplay between the structured bitterness and the piny aromatics creates a sensory profile as large and deep as its mythological namesake.
Appearance. Medium gold to light amber in color with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, off-white head that shows good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent resinous and fresh pine characteristics. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a subtle background. Fermentation profile is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is characterized by a very high hop bitterness. Hop flavors follow the aroma with intense resin and pine notes. Malt flavor is low and neutral, offering a supportive grainy foundation without sweetness. The finish is dry with a long-lasting, bitter, and hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly resinous texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp feel. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth.
