Inspired by the legendary continuously hopped technique, this colossal winter warmer benefits from an intense, unrelenting 135-minute boil, delivering an exceptionally bold and complex hop profile without harshness. A collaboration with Cult of Oak, this high-gravity American IPA showcases a robust pale malt backbone that expertly balances its heavy, resinous pine and bright citrus hop character. At a warming 10.3% ABV, it envelops the palate with a rich, boozy depth and persistent, smooth bitterness, offering a comforting heat and a highly saturated, aromatic hop experience designed for cold weather sipping.
Appearance. Deep golden to light amber with a slight, natural haze. Pours with a thick, frothy, off-white head that demonstrates excellent persistence, leaving heavy, decorative lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High to intense aroma dominated by resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical fruit from the continual hopping process. A clean, grainy pale malt sweetness and a noticeable, clean alcohol warmth support the hop bouquet, accompanied by light yeast-derived fruit esters. Zero diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of citrus peel, pine resin, and stone fruit flavors, supported by a sweet, grainy, and lightly caramelized malt base. Hop bitterness is very high but remarkably smooth and devoid of harshness due to the extended, continuous hopping. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, clean, hoppy bitterness and a warming, boozy presence that is well-integrated.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. Significant but smooth alcohol warmth coats the throat without being hot or fusel, providing a comforting, winter-warmer mouthfeel. No astringency.
