This Hazy IPA is a lush, sensory-driven experience defined by a substantial oat-heavy grist that creates a characteristic fluffy texture. The hop profile is a trans-continental showcase, leading with New Zealand varieties Betty and Bruce, which impart vivid layers of ripe cantaloupe melon and caramelized pineapple. A significant dry-hop addition of Strata and El Dorado deepens the complexity, contributing further tropical depth and a subtle, contrasting piney finish. The result is a vibrant, opaque pour where intense fruit aromatics are balanced by a soft bitterness and a smooth, medium-full body that remains highly approachable and evocative of southern-hemisphere sunshine.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (4-6 SRM), opaque with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates high retention and leaves dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of sweet cantaloupe and rich, sun-ripened pineapple. A clean, bready malt character sits in the background, while New World hop esters provide a faint resinous pine and citrus undertone.
Taste. Initial flavor is a punch of juicy melon and caramelized pineapple. The malt provides a soft, grainy base that balances the high fruit intensity. Hop bitterness is moderate and well-integrated, leading to a smooth, off-dry finish with a lingering piney aftertaste that avoids any harshness or hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristic silky, soft, and fluffy texture derived from the high concentration of oats. Carbonation is moderate, and there is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with zero astringency.
