Echo is a decadent, high-gravity Imperial Stout designed to evoke the sensory profile of a rich hot chocolate. This collaboration with Nerd Brewing features a massive grain bill that provides a luscious, full-bodied foundation of dark chocolate and toasted malt. The aroma is dominated by deep cocoa and subtle roasted grain, while the palate delivers a velvety sweetness balanced by a distinct, spicy hit of chili. Warming alcohol is well-integrated at nearly twelve percent, supporting the complex interplay of bittersweet chocolate and capsaicin heat, finishing with a lingering, chewy richness that defines its massive character.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, persistent deep tan head that leaves significant lacing and visible legs on the glass, indicating high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich, bittersweet cocoa and dark chocolate dominate, backed by a deep, bready maltiness and light caramel. The chili addition provides a subtle earthy, peppery note. Low dark fruit esters resembling raisins are present, with minimal hop aroma and a noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth.

Taste. Intensely flavorful with a rich initial impression of liquid chocolate. Complex layers of roasted grain, espresso, and toasty malt follow. The chili provides a sharp, spicy counterpoint to the heavy residual sweetness. Bitterness is moderate to high but well-balanced by the massive malt weight. The finish is long and warming with a lingering cocoa and spicy chili-heat aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and velvety with a luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is present and noticeable but stays smooth. The chili adds a light prickly sensation on the palate alongside the dense body.
