This Double IPA presents a vivid sensory profile driven by the interplay of Freestyle Nelson Bliss and Citra hops. The initial impact is a concentrated bouquet of crushed white grapes, passionfruit, and vibrant grapefruit zest. At 8% ABV, the palate is substantial yet remarkably lean, allowing the hop-forward character to shine without excessive malt interference. Flavors of gooseberry and diesel-like resin lead into a crisp, dry finish, supported by a firm, clean bitterness. The mouthfeel is smooth and medium-bodied, with a gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances the complex tropical and vinous notes, resulting in a dangerously drinkable strong ale.

Appearance. Gold to deep gold (7-9 SRM) with a moderate haze characteristic of modern dry-hopping. Features a persistent, rocky, off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by white grape, gooseberry, and crushed grape skins from the Nelson Sauvin, alongside Citra's citrus-forward notes of grapefruit and lime. Background notes of mango and light resin with a very low, neutral, grainy malt presence.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and vinous fruit, specifically passionfruit and white wine. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a soft foundation for high hop bitterness that remains clean and lacks harshness. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of resin and grapefruit zest. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crispness that aids drinkability. A smooth, restrained alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
