Right Brain is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases the expressive potential of hand-selected New Zealand hops. Pouring with a characteristic opaque glow, it leads with an intense bouquet of tropical passionfruit, crushed lime, and white wine notes. This collaboration with Garage Project delivers a refined sensory profile where a soft, bready malt base provides a pillowy foundation for layers of stone fruit and citrus. At 7.8% ABV, there is a well-integrated warmth that supports the lush mouthfeel without introducing harshness. The finish is remarkably smooth, leaning into a gentle, off-dry fruitiness rather than aggressive bitterness, emphasizing a modern, juicy character.
Appearance. Color is deep straw to light gold (4–6 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze that creates a luminous glow. It supports a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by New Zealand hop characteristics: pungent passionfruit, ripe mango, and zesty lime, with secondary notes of white grape. The malt is subtle, providing a light, bready sweetness. Fermentation esters are fruity and supportive, with no buttery diacetyl or phenolics.
Taste. High-intensity tropical and stone fruit hop flavors lead the palate. Initial impressions of pineapple and citrus zest transition into a soft, grainy malt sweetness. Perceived bitterness is low, ensuring the juicy character remains the focus. The finish is clean and off-dry with a lingering, soft fruity aftertaste and no hop harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is a noticeable but gentle alcohol warmth consistent with its strength, yet it remains highly drinkable without being viscous or heavy.
