Lupulin Theory by ALIBI Brewing is a vibrant New Zealand Pilsner that celebrates the harvest season with a distinctively fresh, wet-hop character. The beer leads with a punchy, green aroma of crushed lime, white grape, and tropical melon, characteristic of premium New World hop varieties. This harvest-centric intensity offers a grassy, resinous depth that sets it apart from standard lager profiles. Beneath the bright, zesty hop layers lies a supportive, cleanly-fermented base of crackery malt, providing a soft, bready foundation. The finish is smoothly bitter and exceptionally refreshing, showcasing the lush, oily qualities of fresh-picked hops in a crisp, elegant format.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3-4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a creamy, long-lasting white head and moderate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of gooseberry, lime zest, and white grapefruit. A distinct fresh, grassy, and slightly resinous green-bell pepper quality from the wet hops is prominent, supported by medium-low bready and crackery malt. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Leading with medium-high hop bitterness that is smooth rather than harsh. Flavors of honeydew melon, tropical fruit, and fresh-cut grass dominate. The malt provides a medium-low grainy-sweet and bready support that balances the hop-forward profile. Finish is dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a noticeably smooth, almost oily texture from the harvest hops. Moderate to high carbonation with no astringency and very low alcohol warmth.
