Alewife is a vibrant Red IPA that beautifully bridges the gap between resinous hop intensity and a structured malt backbone. Poured into the glass, it presents a stunning copper hue with distinct garnet reflections. The aromatic profile is led by a lush bouquet of tropical fruits, specifically highlighting notes of ripe papaya and passion fruit, characteristic of modern New World hops. On the palate, the beer balances this hop-forward freshness against a sturdy foundation of toasted cereal and rich caramel malts. It finishes with a clean, assertive bitterness that invites another sip, honoring the historical legacy of women in brewing with a contemporary, bold expression.
Appearance. Copper to deep reddish-amber color (12-17 SRM). Features a prominent, persistent, and creamy light tan head with excellent lacing. Clarity is generally clear, though a slight haze is acceptable.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of papaya and passion fruit. Supportive moderate malt character provides a background of sweet caramel, toasted bread, and light cereal. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of papaya and tropical citrus. The mid-palate introduces a medium malt sweetness with notes of caramel, toffee, and toasted grain. Medium-high bitterness is firm but well-integrated, leading to a dry to slightly off-dry finish. The aftertaste lingers with a pleasant balance of hop resins and toasted malt.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with moderate carbonation. The texture is smooth and slightly creamy, accompanied by a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Low astringency.

Pink Boots Society es una asociación sin ánimo de lucro cuyo objetivo es ayudar, apoyar, animar, educar e inspirar a las mujeres que trabajan en la industria cervecera.Su nombre homenajea a las llamadas “Alewife”, término acuñado en la Inglaterra del siglo XII, y que se refiere a las mujeres que se dedicaban a elaborar su propia cerveza como profesión y medio de vida.
