Winterglow is a decadent Imperial Stout that pours like midnight, offering an intense sensory journey. The aroma is dominated by deep roasted grains, evoking espresso and bittersweet cacao, while the addition of tonka beans introduces enticing notes of spicy vanilla and toasted almond. On the palate, a velvety, full-bodied texture carries layers of dark chocolate and dark-dried fruits like raisins and plums. The 10% ABV provides a significant yet smooth warmth that integrates with a firm bitterness and a lingering, sweet-spiced finish. Appearance. Color is jet black and opaque (SRM 40). It features a thick, persistent dark tan head with excellent lacing and high viscosity visible in the legs.
Aroma. High intensity. Rich roasted malt aromas of espresso and bittersweet chocolate are complemented by cacao and tonka notes of vanilla and almond. Low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin are present alongside clean, warming alcohol.
Taste. Intense flavors of roasted grain and cacao nibs are balanced by a moderate bitterness. The tonka adds layers of vanilla and spice, while malt sweetness provides notes of caramel and toast. The finish is lingering and sweet-spiced with a dark chocolate aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and velvety with a thick, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, and a significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout the experience.

Featuring the unique ingredient of Tonka beans for a festive twist, balanced with loads of cacao for a rich depth of flavor. Having used just Tonka beans in previous stouts (Woven Shadows), we wanted to take that flavor profile and broaden it with larger amounts of chocolate malts and real cacao. Contains malts (barley, oat, wheat), hops, yeast and water. 440 ml can. Packaged on November 1, 2021. Best before November 1, 2022.
