White IPA 6.7 º
White Plains is a bright and aromatic White IPA that skillfully blends the spicy, bready characteristics of a wheat beer with the assertive hop profile of an American IPA. The nose is greeted by a high intensity of grapefruit and lime from Citra, paired with the floral orange notes of Amarillo. Simcoe provides a grounding resinous pine and earthy depth. On the palate, the soft, creamy wheat malt balances a firm bitterness, while subtle yeast esters add a layer of peppery complexity. It concludes with a crisp, dry finish, accentuating the vibrant citrus and tropical character of its hop selection.
Appearance. Pale gold to hazy yellow (4-6 SRM). Persistent, frothy white head with significant lacing. Distinctive haze from wheat proteins.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring grapefruit, melon, and tropical notes from Citra and Amarillo. Simcoe adds a layer of resinous pine. Low bready wheat malt with light spicy phenols and fruity esters.
Taste. Initial citrus and stone fruit flavors followed by a crisp, grainy wheat malt presence. Simcoe provides a woodsy, piney complexity. Medium-high bitterness is well-defined. Finishes dry and clean with a lingering citrus zest.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel from the wheat. Moderate-high carbonation. Low alcohol warmth.
