Returning Home is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases a powerful interplay of classic and wild American hops. The sensory profile is dominated by the zesty grapefruit and floral notes of Cascade, which are deepened by the unique, resinous, and tropical citrus character of Comet and Comet BBC. A lean, neutral malt base provides just enough support without distracting from the intense hop saturation. The palate delivers a firm bitterness typical of the style, finishing dry and clean with a lingering resinous trail and a smooth, well-integrated 8% ABV warmth that enhances the overall drinkability.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (SRM 7-9). Persistent, creamy, off-white head with excellent lacing. Slight haze is present, though it remains translucent to the light.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of ruby grapefruit, pine resin, and zesty lemon. Comet hops add a pungent, slightly dank, and tropical undertone reminiscent of wild citrus and pineapple. Background malt is very low, presenting as simple cracker or neutral grain. Clean fermentation with negligible esters.

Taste. Powerful initial impact of citrus zest and resinous pine. Mid-palate reveals a complex, wild fruitiness. Hop bitterness is high and firm but lacks harshness, balancing the 8% ABV. Very low malt presence, offering a clean, soft breadiness. The finish is decisively dry with a long-lasting aftertaste of grapefruit peel and herbal resin.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from high hop oil concentration. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp bite. A gentle, restrained alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth and well-integrated. No hop-derived astringency.
