Progressions is a Triple Dry Hopped Double IPA that presents an intense sensory experience, merging a heavy hop payload with smooth vanilla. The aroma is dominated by the tropical passionfruit of Galaxy and the exotic lychee notes of Topaz. Bright orange bursts from Amarillo and concentrated citrus from Citra Lupomax provide a sharp counterpoint to the creamy, coconut-like character of Sabro. The 8.5% ABV provides a subtle warmth that complements the vanilla's sweetness. On the palate, a firm bitterness is balanced by a lean malt profile, finishing dry with lingering notes of tropical fruit and sweet cream.
Appearance. Light orange-copper (SRM 9) with a modern hazy opacity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent passionfruit, mango, and tangerine. Distinctive coconut and cedar notes from the Sabro hops blend with a sweet, creamy vanilla presence. Very low grainy malt in the background; clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, and stone fruit. The bitterness is moderately high but rounded by the vanilla addition, avoiding any harshness. Low supportive malt character with a medium-dry finish. Lingering hoppy aftertaste with a hint of sweet spice.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth without being solventy. Low astringency.
