Oceanside is a sophisticated Double IPA that showcases a masterful hop trio of Galaxy, Motueka, and Hallertau Blanc. The sensory experience is led by an intense bouquet of passionfruit and ripe peach from the Galaxy, while Motueka contributes bright layers of lime zest and mojito-like citrus. Hallertau Blanc provides an elegant, vinous top note reminiscent of white wine grapes and elderflower. A lean, neutral malt profile ensures the hops remain the focus, leading into an assertive but smooth bitterness. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, with a well-integrated alcohol presence that enhances the vibrant tropical and floral character.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (7 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a thick, persistent white head with excellent lacing and fine-beaded carbonation.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma. Pronounced notes of tropical passionfruit, citrusy lime, and crushed white grapes. Background contains a very low, clean, grainy malt character with a hint of neutral fermentation esters.
Taste. Dominant hop flavors of passionfruit, lemon-lime, and gooseberry. Moderately high bitterness that is firm but lacks any harshness. Low, supportive crackery malt flavor. Finishes very dry with a lingering resinous and citrusy hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly soft texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. Noticeable but gentle alcohol warmth that is well-integrated and smooth.
