American IPA 6 º
This modern American IPA presents a vibrant tapestry of hop character driven by a thoughtful selection of varieties. The use of Amarillo establishes a bright citrus and grapefruit foundation, while Cashmere introduces delicate layers of ripe melon and soft peach. Sabro provides a unique tropical complexity, contributing distinct notes of coconut and cream that soften the firm bitterness. A clean, grainy malt base allows these aromatic nuances to remain front and center, leading into a refreshing, dry finish. It is a well-balanced expression of the style that marries classic citrus punch with contemporary stone fruit and coconut accents.
Appearance. Medium gold with a slight haze (7 SRM). Pours with a medium-sized, white, persistent head that leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring grapefruit, lemon zest, and pineapple. Distinctive secondary notes of coconut and sweet melon are present. Low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters and no detectable alcohol.
Taste. Immediate impact of tropical fruit and citrus hop flavors, following the aroma with grapefruit, coconut, and peach. Low, bready malt provides a neutral background. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, effectively balancing the fruit notes. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering citrus and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. No astringency or harshness.
