This Double IPA showcases a vibrant, modern hop profile driven by the interplay of Vic Secret, Ella, and Idaho Gem. An aromatic rush of crushed pineapple and passion fruit from the Vic Secret leads the sensory experience, supported by the delicate floral and spicy grapefruit nuances of Ella. Idaho Gem adds a distinctive layer of sweet cherry and red berry notes to the profile. The malt backbone remains clean and supportive, allowing the hop-derived tropical and stone fruit flavors to shine. It concludes with a firm, integrated bitterness and a crisp, dry finish, delivering a complex yet highly drinkable expression of the style.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7-9 SRM). Topped by a persistent, fine-textured white head with good lacing. Displays slight haze, consistent with modern hopping techniques.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring bright notes of tropical pineapple and passion fruit. Complementary layers of floral spice, ruby grapefruit, and subtle red berry emerge. Malt presence is very low and neutral, providing a clean canvas for the hops. Fermentation is clean with a whisper of fruity esters.
Taste. Initial hop impact is strong, dominated by tropical fruit and ripe cherry flavors. Bitterness is moderately high and assertive but lacks harshness.
