Alefarm Brewing

MMXXIV is a bold Double IPA that showcases a classic, resinous hop profile. The aroma is dominated by the piney and spicy character of Chinook, complemented by the bright, floral lemon notes of Centennial. A rugged zestiness from Comet adds layers of grapefruit and wild grassiness. The pour is deep gold with a persistent white head. On the palate, a clean, supportive maltiness yields to a firm, lingering bitterness. The finish is remarkably dry for its 8.2% ABV, offering a smooth warmth and a clean fermentation profile that emphasizes the interplay of these three classic American hop varieties without the heavy sweetness often found in higher-gravity ales.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper in color with a slight, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent pine and resin from Chinook, floral citrus notes from Centennial, and a sharp, grapefruit-like zest from Comet. Background malt is clean and neutral-grainy. Fermentation is clean with a very subtle, integrated hint of alcohol.

Taste. Intensely hoppy with flavors of pine, grapefruit pith, and dried flowers. Bitterness is high but well-structured and not harsh. Low, clean malt support provides a neutral base. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, resinous, and hoppy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Medium carbonation. Noteworthy but restrained and smooth alcohol warmth is present. Devoid of any hop-derived astringency.
