This refined Vienna Lager, a collaboration with Claus Høxbroe, presents an elegant display of continental malt character. It opens with a soft, toasty aroma reminiscent of fresh bread crusts, underpinned by a clean lager fermentation profile. On the palate, a delicate malt complexity takes center stage, offering rich, bready notes derived from quality Vienna malt without heavy caramel sweetness. The transition to the finish is seamless, as a moderate bitterness provides a crisp counterpoint to the malt, resulting in a refreshing and relatively dry conclusion. It is a graceful amber beer that prioritizes balance and drinkability.
Appearance. Light reddish amber to copper in color (9–15 SRM). It features bright clarity and is topped by a large, persistent, off-white head.
Aroma. Moderately intense malt aroma with prominent toasty and malty-rich accents. Hop aroma is low to none, offering faint floral or spicy notes. Clean lager character without esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Soft, elegant malt complexity leads with rich, toasty flavors and no significant caramel or roast. A firm enough hop bitterness balances the malt, leading to a fairly dry, soft finish. The aftertaste retains both rich malt and subtle hop bitterness.
