Formations delivers an intense sensory experience inspired by the Double IPA style, driven by a heavy-hitting hop trio. Cascade provides a classic foundation of citrus zest and floral pine, while Strata introduces punchy layers of passion fruit and a hint of herbal dankness. Enigma elevates the complexity with distinct notes of red berries and melon. Despite its non-alcoholic nature, it mimics the assertive hop character and dry, bitter finish expected of the style. The result is a vibrant, multi-layered profile where tropical fruit meets resinous depth against a clean, unobtrusive malt backdrop, emphasizing drinkability and modern hop expression.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper with a slight, modern haze. Topped by a moderate-sized, persistent white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex hop bouquet. Bright grapefruit and floral notes from Cascade mix with the tropical passion fruit and strawberry of Strata. Enigma adds unique nuances of raspberry and red currant. Supporting malt is neutral and clean, with a light grainy character.
Taste. Initial impression is aggressively hop-forward. Flavors of citrus peel and resinous pine lead into a mid-palate of melon and berry. Bitterness is high and firm but avoids harshness. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering aftertaste of grapefruit pith and dank herbs. Supportive malt provides a soft, unobtrusive toastiness.
