Aromas of licorice, molasses, and dark stone fruits like plums and cherries emerge from mahogany depths. On the palate, a rich, velvety sweetness of toffee and caramel is countered by a smooth roast and a persistent dymny character that avoids harshness. At 10.5% ABV, a significant but well-integrated warmth spreads through the full-bodied finish, leaving lingering notes of dark chocolate and dried currants. It is a bold, highly-structured expression of the style that balances intense smoke with refined malt complexity.
Appearance. Opaque dark brown with deep reddish-copper highlights; crowned by a thick, persistent tan head with excellent lacing.
