Don't Be Afraid is a formidable Double IPA that masterfully balances its substantial 11.3% strength with a profound hop-forward character. The sensory journey is led by an intense aromatic profile of grapefruit zest, resinous pine, and ripe mango, derived from a heavy-handed application of modern American hops. Despite the dense 25 BLG gravity, the palate remains remarkably clean with a soft, supportive malt backbone that stays in the background. The experience is defined by an assertive, firm bitterness that cuts through the medium-full body, resulting in a crisp, dry finish. A well-integrated, smooth alcohol warmth provides a sophisticated glow to this bold, complex ale.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper with slight haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, crushed pine needles, and tropical passion fruit. Supported by a clean, neutral, grainy malt character and a light, clean alcohol presence in the background.

Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of citrus and resinous hop flavors. Moderately high bitterness is firm but smooth, balanced by a soft, unobtrusive malt character. Fermentation is clean with a lingering, bitter, and hoppy finish that remains dry and avoids heaviness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Medium-high carbonation adds a refreshing lift, while a noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy or harsh.
