This American IPA presents a vibrant interplay between technical precision and bold hop expression. Utilizing Sprau malts, the foundation is clean and lean, allowing the complex aromatics of the YOPS hop additions to take center stage. Expect a sensory bouquet of bright citrus zest and tropical fruit, underpinned by a subtle resinous pine character. The palate mirrors the nose, delivering sharp grapefruit and stone fruit flavors atop a crisp, grainy malt backbone. With a restrained 5% alcohol by volume, it offers high drinkability without sacrificing the assertive bitterness and dry finish quintessential to the style.
Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 7 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It is topped by a persistent, fine-beaded white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop profile featuring layers of pink grapefruit, mango, and a hint of crushed pine needles. A low, clean, grainy malt sweetness from the Sprau base provides a neutral background. Fermentation is exceptionally clean with no detectable esters.
Taste. High hop flavor dominated by citrus pith and tropical melon. The bitterness is firm and clean, balancing a light toasted grain character. The finish is decidedly dry and crisp, with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of lemon zest and resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate carbonation provides a refreshing bite. Alcohol warmth is negligible, enhancing its approachable character.
