Albrechtický pivovar Sprau Krush presents a vibrant, modern sensory profile driven by the intensive use of Krush hops and the innovative Sprau malt from Viking Malt. Despite its sessionable strength, this American IPA delivers a punching aroma of mango, guava, and orange marmalade. The Sprau malt provides an exceptionally stable, creamy foam and a clean, grainy foundation that carries the hop-derived stone fruit and resinous notes across the palate. It balances a firm bitterness with a surprisingly smooth mouthfeel for its gravity, finishing crisp and dry with a lingering tropical fruit echo that invites the next sip.
Appearance. Pours a clear, medium gold (approx. 7 SRM) with a dense, persistent white head and excellent lacing, enhanced by the specialized malt protein profile.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit notes of mango and guava, alongside citrus zest and a hint of resinous pine. A low, clean, grainy-sweet malt character from the Viking Malt base provides a neutral backdrop, while the fermentation remains exceptionally clean with no noticeable esters.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply hop-forward, showcasing layers of orange, stone fruit, and tropical medley from the Krush hops. Low grainy malt flavor supports a medium-high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. The balance is decidedly hoppy, leading to a dry, clean finish with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, almost creamy texture likely bolstered by the Sprau addition. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. There is no alcohol warmth or astringency present.
